Burning Man 2018
August 26 – September 3
The Sonic Runway returned to the playa in 2018. The 32 arch, 1/4 mile long, tripper-trap brightened nights with a brand new set of patterns (along with a brand new way to trigger patterns) and 2x as many LEDs.
In addition to the Sound Art Cars we typically host at the Sonic Runway, we expanded the invitation to non-DJ musical performers each night from 9-11pm.
San Jose 2017
November 3, 2017 - March 9, 2018
The City of San Jose and Burning Man Project selected the Sonic Runway as the first artwork for the 'Playa to Paseo' Initiative, a three-year instigation of art for downtown San Jose; an invitation to play, engage, and participate in art-making city-wide. The Runway was popular with San Jose residents with consistent crowds every night, well attended live performances, and a strong Instagram presence.
